School Days

Would you like it if we went to 4 school days a week with longer days (7:30-5)?

  1. I might like it...it depends how much longer the days would become. If it was to long then no. But, if it was just a little bit, then yes.

If we had longer three day weekends then i don't really know, but knowing the teachers at Mayo, they would load us up with even more homework!!! I definitley dont want to have that happen!

But if they didn't load us up with more homework than i wold be happy. It would even give us more time to do projects.

  2. no i hate school! why would i want to be here any longer than i already have to. i would like the four days, but not the extra two hours.
school is a drag to me. it's not that fun!
school isn't fun at all! who wakes up in the morning and say "what a wonderful day to go to school and have fun learning?". school is stupid to me!
if i had a choice i wouldn't come to school at all! i would be homeschooled and work at my own pace. school is beneficial, but i don't appreciate it right now!

  3. I would like it because you have an extra day out of school. People usally waist a hour when they get home anyways. It would also give us more days over the weekend to do homework and have fun!

One reason I wouldn't like it is because if you get out of school that late then you probely wouldn't get all the sleep you need. Some people would like it others wouldn't.

Being a care free person. I really don't care if we went 4 or 5 days a week to school. You still get all of the infomation you need.

  4. I do not think extending the hours would be worth going one day less. I would not like going for the extra hours at all. School should remain as is.

One reason I wouldn't like this is because after school, you would have homework. If you didn't get out of school until 5, then you wouldn't have too much time left in your day for homework. I think that getting out at 5 would be too late!

Getting up earlier would also make me angry! We would have to be at school 30 minutes earlier, which means having to wake up way early! I'd much rather leave school hours alone!

  5. NO! I like the ways the days are now. If the school days were that much longer it would kill me. The classes are already super duper long.

I think that the five day a week thing is just fine to me. I like the way school is now. Extra hours of school would make me go insane.

Spending so much time a day at school would effect other afternoon activities, and I think it might be harder on our parents as well. Many students have so much after school activities and this would effect so much. I do not like it at all.

  6. I say 4 days because when friday comes i cant handle going one more day for the weekend so i feel this would be easier on my nerves. Not many but i got nerves guuuurrrrrl. Nah im just kidding but honestly the 4 days would be better than 5.

  7. I can barely survive school as long as it now. If it was longer I would be asleep by it was time to go to home. Also, if school lets out at five, then will we have any time after school?

No, we wouldn't get home to six, then we would have supper, and HOMEWORK. Then the day off would be spent trying to catch up on school work, so it would be like having school six days a week.

it would be nice to have a three day weekend, but most of our parents go to work five days a week, so then we would have a day all by ourselves. I cant drive so i would be BORED cause i couldn't go anywhere.

  8. No I would not like it going to school that long in a day. I rather just keep going to school five days a week with Saturday and Sunday off. I think going to school from 7:30-5:00 is a bit much and could a big strain on others as well as myself.I think I would like a three-day weekend but the hours we would have to stay in school is just to long.

I can barely make it through the day with the time schedule we are currently on. Most of the time I zone out or fall asleep which isn't a good thing. So I can't even imagine how I would be if we stay in schol that long. I do understand knowledge is power and the more you have the better you would be but I think going to school from 8:00-3:10 is alright. Compared to going from 7:30-5:00 for four days a week.

So in my conclusion I rather go to school for five days a week with shorter hours, than four days with longer hours.

  9. I would like it ten times more! We would have an extra weekend day, which would be an extra day to have fun and sleep in. If it's only two extra hours a day, why would you not want to go and get a free day?

It would give you more time with your friends at school and even though there would either have to be more classes or longer classes, I think it would be better. The thought of an extra day off of a week excites me. The only bad part about it would be the longer, dreadful classes.

I think that this is a great idea. It would give students more free time and would make them happier. I, as a student, would enjoy this kind of school week. We could be on the same bell schedule, with this new day schedule and it would be great.

  10. No, I have things to do! after 3:00 p.m. I have to be gone. There is no way possible that I would sit in school til five o'clock.

That's taking up my days. Special during daylight savings time. It gets dark quick then what am I suppose to do?

Then you have to look at the situation people have kids(teachers). Would you honestly say you would rather be teaching students than at home with your child?

  11. No, I wouldn’t want a four day week but longer school hours. I’m already tired of going to school for 7 hours out of the day. It sounds good because you get a 3 day weekend, not really. Still I prefer, 5 days with shorter hours.

With longer school hours, that means more classes. What if you have this teacher you don’t like and you have to stay in her class for 2 hours? That wouldn’t be a good thing. Plus, you would have a lot of class work to do. Maybe, homework too!

So again, no I wouldn’t want a four day week with longer school hours. The 3 day weekend sounds good, but no. If it was up to me, I would keep it like it is now.

  12. Yes I would because we could go Monday-Thursday and it is not really a big difference. It will be better because that means it will be a longer weekend for us and more rest. I think I would like it for about a month and want to change, I think because when day lights saving comes around it will be dark and I will be getting tired and then as for after school activites would have to be pushed back so itmight be to late for things like that and they might would have to get cut which might not be to good for students because it could cause more violents in this area and surronding areas. I do think this would work but not for long!

  13. I would absolutely hate it if we had longer days at school! The classes are already an hour and a half long as it is. I don't think that one extra day is worth it because you still have a two day weekend.

My problem with this is the fact that I don't really have a long attention span. I barely pay attention for the whole class time now, let alone longer. I think that the sleeping in class would rise dramatically because it causes the students to sit in one given place for an even longer amount of time.

It's hard for me to even think about going to school for a longer amount of time every day. There seem to be a lot more cons than pros on this subject, and I think that it is a smart idea to leave things exactly how they are.

  14. I like the way the scheldule is now. It just doesn't seem rational to do this, to wake up earlier and stay up later just to have another day for the weekend. It would make the teachesr jobs harder as well.

Some teachers can just not make some many things in such a long time. Not to mention that the school would have to have lunch and a snack for the students as well. Because it goes on to five they school would have to provide something for the students during four or five.

If there ever was a change in the school hour and day schedule, I would prefer something my stepsister suggested one day. Have school on week, then have the next week off. Then it keeps alternating. It seems like a fair deal, a week for a week. But this is my opinion.

  15. oh dear no. I don't not think that priscilla marie streett would ever even think about going to school until 5'o clock. I have many things that i do when i get home. Im a busy person. this is crazy!

wow, one day to take off of the school week. I don't mind going to school on fridays. It make sme happy to because i know the weekend is about to come. I would really cry if this happened.

I know obama thinks that its a good idea but hes crazy. he knows that if he was in school he wouldn't want to do this. Just because he is out of school he doesn't have to torture us. its not fair so no i hope this won't happen!

  16. I wouldnt enjoy coming to school four days a week with longer days. I wouldnt like it because I get enough of Mayo in just two days why would I want to spend more hours here? The days are longer than they should be anyway.
I disagree with extending the school hours because we would still be at school the same amount of time anyway so it would be pointless.

  17. No. One reason, maybe because I come from a private school and the days there lasted only until 2:45. It was a big transition to because the days seemed so much longer.

I think that if you make the days even longer the students would be too worn out to do anything productive. I think that they would be too tired and there would be no use in it.

Plus, the every night they would have more homework. They would stay up all night. Then, do badly in school the next day and it would keep going on and on and on.

  18. Absouletly not! I hate school! And I would not want to make it any longer!

If you went from 7:30 to 5:00 you would have no tie for anything else. Not to mention I would be so exhuasted by the end of the day I would learn nothing and be extremely miserable.

I think school is too long now. To be completely honest I shut off after lunch and am ready to go home. Think about the kids who have sports, to play when would that get fit in there if school wasnt over until five. Let's not even talk about the homework!
