A way that you can incorporate texting into your class is to make everyone type a 3 page essay using nothing but text on your phone. When you finish the story they have to send it to you through their phone to your phone. It will teach kids how to text and they will learn how to send text messages. I think this would be a good way for you to have texting in one of your assignments. The only bad thing about this assignment is that some students will have your phone number and will text you constantly. But a way to stop that is to give the students that send you a text message detention. Thats my idea about using text as an assignment. You can do this assignment, just dont give it to us this semester, try it next semester. Because I dont want to do it. I dont text fast and I dont feel like texting three pages.
I think you could text all homework and stuff to your students when necessary. Or when you have a reminder to tell another employee you can just text it over instead of using email! Also Mrs. Miller when you get super mad at a kid, just text his mommy!
Texting can be used in so many ways. However, texting is a communicative device so I do not know who you could actually teach using it.
I love texting, and it is very necessary for everday life. I like all teachers could use it to send out information about upcoming things and such. I like this idea of teachers using texting! :)
instead of typing everything on a personla computer let us use our personal cell phones. Ohh!! i got it. Your class can be called PCP 101. Personal Cell Phone 101 could teach students little tricks on how to type words shorter and faster. It teaches hand coordination and makes everything easier when we use a computer.
This is by far my favorite blog! Instead of making us type on computers, we could type on cell phones! We could all have like keyboard phones and learn how to type on them and function with them. We could learn and study the language of text message and have typing test and key test!
Instead of doing Microsoft Office lessons, we could do lessons with the cell phone. We could start off at the bare basics like how to text and then work our way up to using CAPS LOCK and T9 word. It'd be great!
Texting is something that practically everyone does. I text A LOT everyday. I probably text more than an average person should. I love the idea of incorporating cell phones into schools!
One way you could incorporate this into your class is by texting reminders and homework to your students. When you do this you can always say that you know you told them. We could also text out assignments and projects to you. This would also help with mayo becoming green. Even though it is just your class. It is still helping our environment. But if you gave us you number many of the stupid kids in your classes would always be texting you. This would make you mad, and nobody wants Mrs. Miller mad.
I really like this idea. And hopefully we could do something like this in the future. I think it would be interesting and a way to get away from the computer.

That's funny...are you serious? Unfortunately, I'm fresh out of ideas. But, I think it would be very intersting if you cold figure out a way to do it.
I kinda like Neshaa's idea of texting homework and reminders to students. I think that would be a very good way to get students to do their work, and have it in on time.
It would be a lot cheaper and more convienient than handing out paper flyers. Because, half of us don't even read them, and they just get crumpled in our book bags. Save the trees!
